Riding the underground rails

I live in the US these days, but the other day when I was stuck in traffic, I got to reminiscing about my days commuting on the Beijing subway.

China's subways may be crowded -- especially during rush hour -- but they meet a crucial need. And, at the risk of sounding insane, they're actually sort of fun if you're feeling up for it. China has its own subway culture, and you can see all kinds of crazy things while you're riding around down there. And of course, it's nice to be able to get virtually anywhere in the city for around $0.30.
