Why are they called Team Azkals? The name was from the Filipino term 'askal'(asong-kalye) meaning street dog. It symbolizes aggressiveness, resilience, unbridled loyalty. "The askal, survives, even triumphs, amid meager resources, against all odds. It transcends bloodlines.
